MLC Life (Acenda) Change of Trustee

On 1 July 2025 all policies owned by MLC Insurance’s current superannuation fund, NULIS, will be transferred to Smart Future Trust.  

The following products will be transferred to Smart Future Trust: 

• MLC Insurance Super 
• MLC Life Cover Super 
• Protectionfirst Super 
• MLC Whole of Life Superannuation   
• Whole of Life (policies held in super only) 
• MLC Endowment Superannuation  
• MLC Pure Endowment Superannuation  
• Maturity Growth Superannuation Plan 
• MLC Capital Guaranteed Personal Super Bond 
• MLC Capital Guaranteed Personal Super Savings Plan 
• MLC Super Pension Plan 
• MLC Super Pension 

Who will this impact?  

For most policies, nothing will change. The only circumstances where your policy may experience changes are: 

• If you currently pay your premiums quarterly or half yearly through an eligible MLC Super Account. Your premiums will automatically be changed to an annual frequency, and you may have a pro-rata payment to align your policy with the updated frequency.  
• If you currently pay your premiums monthly through an eligible MLC Super Account. Your premiums will automatically be changed to an annual frequency.  
• MLC Super Estate Optimiser beneficiaries will no longer be accepted, and all Super Estate Optimiser beneficiaries will need to be updated prior to 30 June 2025.  

If none of the above apply to you, there is nothing further to complete. The transfer will not impact your premiums, cover, or any other aspects of your policies.  

Important Dates 

From 1 May 2025 affected members will receive a significant event notice. If your policy requires further action on your behalf, this will be communicated here.  

From 1 July 2025 policies will begin to be transferred to the new trustee.  

From July 2025 member will receive Exit statements from NULIS and welcome letters from Equity Trustees.
