Our team have answered our most frequently asked questions.
does it cost anything for a discovery call?
No. All discovery calls are free of charge.
HOW MUCH DOES A FIRST APPOINTMENT COST?
As of 1st October 2024, the fee for non-Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) and non-Defence Force Transition Program (DFTP) first appointments is $350.
do you help with financial advice for defence veterans?
Yes. Our team work with veterans from all over Australia. Fees can often be covered by DVA. Feel free to contact us to see if this applies to you.
I’ve booked my appointment, when will i need to start providing information?
Our team will send you an email with the login details to your own secure online portal at least two weeks before your appointment (this may vary depending on when you've booked), which will allow you to upload information prior to your meeting. If you have booked more than two weeks in advance, please expect an email from one of our friendly administrators approximately two weeks prior to your appointment.
I’m having trouble accessing the portal
Please refer to the email you received with your log in details. There is a paper-based Fact Find document available there for you to complete and send in to [email protected]. If you’re still experiencing issues, please reach out to us.
I’m not sure what to talk about
Our advisers can offer discussion points and possible areas of interest from what you provide in your pre-appointment information. They’ll be able to guide you through the appointment process, no problem!
I have an offer from DVA. Do I have to pay for my appointment?
Some DVA offers will detail a set amount to seek financial advice. If you aren’t sure if this applies to you, please reach out to us on 07 4766 9688. We can generally invoice against any eligible offer so long as you haven’t already claimed the offer and it is within its expiry date.
I’m transitioning from Defence. How do I access my funding?
If you are transitioning or have transitioned within the past two years from Defence you are entitled to funding to see a financial adviser. Please request a quote from us by giving us a call on 07 4766 9688 or sending us an email at [email protected]. You can provide this quote to your transition officer for approval, or we can do this on your behalf. Once approved and you've had your meeting with us, we will invoice Defence Force Transition Program (DFTP) directly. If you have any questions about whether this applies to you, please reach out.
I need an appointment within a certain time frame, but everything’s booked out
If you cannot find a suitable time, feel free to give us a call on 07 4766 9688. We may be able to find an alternative time or date for you to come in.
I’m not sure which adviser I should see
We have three advisers currently, two of which specialise in current and ex-defence veterans. Feel free to have a look at our about us page, which features what each adviser's specialty is.
I don’t know if I need to see an adviser
If you’re still uncertain, feel free to book a 10-minute discovery call with either Jessie or Yannick (DVA/Defence) to go over the basics of what they can do to help you out.
Do I have to become an ongoing client right away?
There is no obligation to continue with us if you don’t believe it will suit your current lifestyle or goals. We also offer a Fee For Service system which allows you to pay on an ad hoc basis whenever your financial situation changes.
Do I have to make a decision on how I proceed with the advice right away?
You’re welcome to take as much time as you need after your first appointment to discuss with a partner or your family about how these recommendations will fit your lifestyle. Our advisers are also happy to talk you through any questions or concerns you might have.
I’ve booked an appointment but haven’t had time to complete the portal or Fact Find document. Can I still have the appointment?
Absolutely. We highly recommend that you attempt to complete this prior to the appointment, but we understand that it sometimes cannot happen. If you don’t believe you’ll be able to provide any information, please give us a call and we can get it over the phone. Otherwise, your adviser will collect the information in your appointment. Please note that if you do not provide information prior, your appointment may not be as in-depth.
Something has come up and I can’t get to my appointment

How do I pay for my appointment?
